Gerald Of Weston
Medieval Minstrel
Hailing originally from the small village of Weston, near the great city of Bath in Somerset, Gerald of Weston now lives in Dorchester in the county of Dorset and travels the south of England entertaining folks with his merry brand of Medieval Minstrelsy.
Gerald plays a variety of authentic instruments, including medieval fiddle, mandora, rebec, lute-guitar, psaltery, recorder, whistles and hurdy-gurdy. He is attempting to add medieval smallpipes to his repertoire of instruments but progress is currently slow, as his dog attacks him every time he picks them up!
He has entertained audiences far and wide at weddings, fairs and private functions and has appeared at the Herstmonceux Medieval Festival, Tonbridge Castle Medieval Festival, the Hailsham Charter Market, Eastbourne St George’s Day Fayre, Chipping Ongar Medieval Fayre, The Siege of Rye and the Michelham Priory Medieval Weekend.
He is happy to talk about early music and demonstrate his collection of replica medieval instruments. |
